A Culinary Adventure with Michel Roux Jr.

As a practice, we wanted to extend a special thank you to our former director, Alan Sankey, for his years of dedication and leadership. To mark his departure in a fitting way, we organised a unique experience that reflects Alan’s passion for both creativity and precision: a masterclass at the renowned Sauce by The Langham, led by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr.

Alan, never one to shy away from new challenges, thoroughly enjoyed a day filled with fine food, expert culinary instruction, and, of course, a glass (or two) of Champagne. In Alan’s own words:

“Champagne was flowing so thankfully the knife skill requirements were minimal! It was wonderful to learn the skills that recipes often leave out, but are crucial to getting things right. A truly informative and enjoyable day. Thanks again to everyone at the Practice for this memorable experience.”

It was a pleasure to offer Alan this culinary adventure, and we’re thrilled that it was such a success. While his daily presence in the office will be missed, we are delighted to have provided him with a day filled with laughter, learning, and a dash of creativity — all key ingredients for success, whether in the kitchen or at the drawing board!

We wish Alan all the best in this next chapter and trust that, wherever his path leads, he will continue to cook up something special.
