brp architects lead scheme branded exemplary under Secured by Design Award
brp architects are pleased to have received very high praise for the new Health and Well being Campus, nearing completion at Worcester. The scheme which consists of a 60 Bed Extra Care facility and 60 Bed residential Care Home with shared community Hub, 32 Close Care apartments and 8 Close Care bungalows, being constructed by Stepnell will be completed in early June, and is now starting to receive very high feedback for design and quality of construction from a number of sources.
Specific, and very complimentary feedback has been forthcoming from the South Worcestershire Architectural Liaison Officer, who has this week made his final site inspections as required prior to awarding Secured by Design Certification. It is a requirement of the client, Sanctuary Group, that the development will ensure high standards for residents through good design and physical security. Both of which have been successfully achieved.
Mr Mike Stephenson – South Worcestershire Architectural Liaison Officer commented:
“In recent times it is probably one of the best schemes I have seen. There is a great balance between security and functionality, natural surveillance throughout the scheme is excellent as is the lighting with a mixture of lamp standards and bollards. I see this as a place where people can live without crime and the fear of crime ever being of a concern to them.”
It is a great credit to the design team and Stepnell that the development has received such high praise as everyone involved in the project has worked very hard to ensure the client requirements and Secured by Design has been considered in the highest regard, resulting in the successful granting of a Secured by Design accreditation.
